Carol L. Carbary

ACFRE

Carol L. Carbary, ACFRE, has more than thirty years of development and fundraising experience at institutions such as Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals of Cleveland, Kent State University, Cleveland State University, Cleveland Clinic, and Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio.

She served as Vice President of Advancement at Notre Dame College and President and CEO of the Foundation at North Central State College. Most recently, Carol was Chief Development & Marketing Officer at Journey Center for Safety and Healing.

In 2015, Carol earned the prestigious ACFRE (Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive), held by only 117 people worldwide. She holds a BA in Math/Physics from Wells College (NY), a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and an MBA from Kent State University.

Carol has earned several awards and accolades, most recently being honored as the 2021 Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Cleveland Chapter. She has twice served on the AFP Greater Cleveland Chapter board, including serving as president for two years.

Carol was born and raised in central New York State but has called Cleveland home for more than 30 years. She lives in Cleveland Heights with her wife and cats. They share two children and a grandson.
